Original Crown Mill

Finest Papers

It all started in 1478 when Emperor Maximilian permitted the monks of La Hulpe Monastery in Belgium to build a mill on the banks of a small river called the Argentine. Two hundred years later by Royal order from King Charles 11 the water mill became the Royal Mill for the making of writing paper.

In 1870 Original Crown Mill founder Frederic Pelletier opened a factory in Brussels producing writing paper and envelopes, ordering the laid paper from the Royal Mill. The laid paper he used was an authentic copy of the original handmade paper.

And so "Original Crown Mill" was born.

The most distinguished writing paper in the world.
